Stuart G. Lasher
Mr. Lasher is a CPA who began his professional career at KPMG Peat Marwick in 1980. During his tenure at KPMG, Mr. Lasher was responsible for audits in a variety of industries including manufacturing, retail and wholesale distribution, restaurants and service businesses. Mr. Lasher assisted in many mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings. From 1986 to 1989, Mr. Lasher was Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Silk Greenhouse, Inc., a national retailer. Silk Greenhouse grew from 6 stores and $6 million in revenues in 1986 to more than 90 stores and approximately $200 million in revenues in 1989. As CFO, Mr. Lasher completed a venture capital financing in 1987, an initial public offering in 1988 and a secondary offering in 1989. Mr. Lasher also negotiated a multi-million dollar line of credit and oversaw finance, accounting, management information systems, shareholder relations, manufacturing and distribution. In 1990, Mr. Lasher co-founded and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of National Business Solutions, Inc. (NBS), a professional employer organization (PEO) based in St. Petersburg, Florida. From 1990 to 1996, NBS grew from inception to one of the largest professional employer organizations in the country with approximately $300 million in sales. During this period Mr. Lasher held numerous industry positions including President of the Florida Association of Professional Employer Organizations. Mr. Lasher and NBS received numerous awards including INC. Magazine 57th fastest growing company in 1995, finalist for Ernst and Young Florida Entrepreneur of the Year for 1995 and winner of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year for 1996. In August 1996, Paychex, Inc. acquired NBS and Mr. Lasher remained as Chief Executive Officer of the Paychex PEO division until June 1997.
William J. Schifino, Jr.
Bill is a founding shareholder of Burr & Formon LLP, a Tampa-based law firm with national and international clients. Bill presently serves as the firm's Managing Director and President.
Bill has extensive experience in representing businesses in various stages of growth. In addition to providing legal counsel, Bill has directed clients in strategic planning, served as a member of advisory committtees, and assisted companies with corporate expansion and exit strategies. His comprehensive legal experience includes selling and merging businesses, acquisitions and initial public offerings.
Since beginning his legal practice, Bill has served his profession and community, having been previously recognized as the Hillsborough County Bar Association's Most Productive Young Lawyer, Tampa Bay American Inn of Court; Past President, Hillsborough County Young Lawyers Section; Director, Board of Governors of the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar; Director, Hillsborough County Bar Association; Member, Tampa Chamber of Commerce; as well as other community and professional activities
Tyler graduated from the University of South Florida in 2010 as a Florida Academic Scholar with a degree in Management and Finance. His experience runs the gamut of economic analysis, from venture capital investment analysis, high net worth asset management, investment banking, IPOs, auditing, mergers and acquisitions, technical research and more. He has also served in most every major business unit with select client organizations, including sales and customer service, product development, IT and operations. Tyler is partner in Basque restaurant, which opened in July 2012.
Chief Financial Officer
Derek graduated from the University of Tampa in 2005 with an MBA in Accounting. From 2005 to 2011, he served as Senior Assurance Associate for Grant Thornton, providing team leadership for financial statement audits including planning, scheduling, and coordinating internal procedures for multiple engagements from inception through completion. He later served as Senior Internal Auditor for PODS Enterprises, performing operational audits of franchisees and corporate owned locations including planning, scheduling and coordinating procedures from inception to completion.
